1. What is a content management system?

A content management system is a web site that controls a web site. A good cms gives any team member complete control over the content and data at their web site — without having to know anything about code.

2. Why do I need the GeneratorTools cms?

If you are like most people nowadays, you need your web site to have constant updates to content. A good cms makes it possible for anyone, regardless of their web savviness, to make changes and additions to their web site with no knowledge of HTML.

GeneratorTools will save you money and time, and will better ensure that the words and pictures at your site are up to date and free of mistakes. If you don't use a proven and stable content management system to manage your site, you will have to pay a designer and/or programmer every time you want to fix a typo, add a page, and add a new feature to your site. In addition, you will be forced to search the open market for new add-ons to your site, and that can be a frustrating, expensive and visually unsatisfying way to go.

If you want to have constantly updated content at your site, and don't have an in-house IT department to run things for free, you will definitely find the cost of GeneratorTools to be well worth the money.

3. What about the monthly fees?

The only way we can keep GeneratorTools up with the changes and trends in the web world is to be under constant development, and that costs money. But the good news is, if you need GeneratorTools, it will pay for itself in no time. Because the cost (and headaches) associated with having to call a designer every time you need to update your site is far more expensive and time-consuming that what it costs to license and use Generator.

4. Does GeneratorTools work on the Mac?

Yes, Generator is completely Macintosh and Windows compatible.

5. How easy is it to use GeneratorTools?

The GeneratorTools cms user interface was designed to be easy to understand and use every day. Through simple and clear buttons and an intuitive folder interface, almost anyone can learn the basics of GeneratorTools in a few days of working in the system.

6. What if I don't have anyone to run GeneratorTools at my site?

While GeneratorTools provides you with the tools to run your site yourself, it's likely there will be some things you simply don't have the time to manage. That's why most of our clients pay us a monthly retainer to run some or all of the daily functions of their site. We can work through your needs and provide you with a quick estimate at your request.

7. Do I have to install any software to use GeneratorTools?

No. The Generator cms is entirely browser-based, and does not require the user to install any software on their computer. All you need is a user name and password for login, and you're good to go.

8. Can I host my site on my own server using GeneratorTools?

No. While our clients always retain complete ownership of their web domain name and I.P. address, the Generator will only run effectively on our custom-designed servers.

9. What browsers do you support?

We support Firefox, Explorer and Safari. We generally recommend clients use Firefox as their default browser, as it is the most stable and is rapidly becoming the most popular web browser. To download Firefox for your computer, click here.
